Running SSH/X11 From Windows

I created a set of step-by-step instructions for setting up SSH/X11 from a Windows PC. You may find this useful as you prepare for the programming assignment. The document is here.

Note that you will still need an account on my server if you are going to use this approach. For that, you must see me in person.

Updated Presentation Schedule

Because one student dropped the class, I re-worked the presentation schedule. That schedule has been posted here. We now have two open slots at the end of the semester; if you would like to schedule an additional presentation (and have your lowest grade dropped), please let me know.

Presentation Schedule

The current schedule for presentations can be found here. Please note your time and the paper assignment. Also, please note that the syllabus has been changed slightly to reflect some small changes in the presentation schedule.

Homework Assignments

Below are the files for your first two homework assignments. Assignment 0 is the programming assignment, which you should look at right away. Assignment 1 is not trivial and will require you to read a substantial portion of Taylor. It may be a good idea to start on that early, too.

Important Schedule Update!

Please note that this class will meet Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:00 pm to 5:50 pm in Hand Lab 3324. This schedule change was submitted last semester, but for some reason it never went through. While the time may not be optimal for some, it has two main advantages: First, being late in the day, it shouldn't interfere with your lab work/experiments. Second, meeting three times per week shortens the lectures into chunks that most students find more manageable. No other times are available, so this is the time we will meet this semester.
